Dental Crowns - Wodonga & Albury

Protect and restore your crowning glory – your smile

A dental crown is a simple cosmetic dental solution that restores and protects a tooth that has been accidentally chipped or broken, or weakened due to root canal therapy.

Otherwise known as a tooth ‘cap’, a crown restores your tooth’s shape, size and strength, while also enhancing its appearance.

A crown will withstand the pressures of normal biting and chewing. In fact, your tooth (and smile) will look even better than before!

There’s a crown to suit your needs and budget

There are several types of crowns – metal, porcelain (fused to metal), resin, and ceramic. Your Dental on Lawrence dentist can advise you on the crown that best suits your individual needs and budget.

Some crowns can be fitted in a single visit, but generally requires two appointments: The first is to prepare the tooth and a second visit is to cement the permanent crown into position.

Here’s how we fit a crown

During the first visit, your dentist may take x-rays to ensure there is no decay or risk of infection in the tooth and its surrounding bone.

An impression of the tooth is made to serve as a model for the new crown, which takes 2-3 weeks to make. While your permanent crown is being constructed, your tooth will be protected by a  temporary crown.

At your second visit, your dentist will remove the temporary crown and cement your permanent crown into place, ensuring a perfect fit.
